Free Teen Relationship Workshop
Parkland Hospital is hosting two workshops on June 19th for the East Dallas region. One for couples around parenting/communication and the other for teens. The community has identified this as a concern and challenge. This is an 8 hr. FREE session hosted by Anthem, who has excellent counselors.
Anthem also gives families $25 to assist them with child care. Anyone who wants to improve their relationship with ttheir partner, or are struggling with their teens are encouraged to attend.
The couples workshop will be conducted in Spanish and the teen workshop will be in English. The event will be held at Parkland Hospital's Administration building located at 3310 Live Oak (3rd Floor) from 9am-5pm.

Verizon Foundation Volunteer Incentive Program Award
Verizon Foundation provides a VIP grant annually to a nonprofit 501c (3) organization to recognize a Verizon employee volunteering or serving on Board of Directors for over 50 hours in the year.
The award recipient for 2009 is Jeffrey Cheng. On behalf of Verizon Foundation, the $750 grant check during the 2010 GDAACC Membership Meeting and Officers Installation luncheon.
Jeff volunteered over 75 hours of his personal time with the MEED Center and GDAACC for the following events:
· GDAACC Leadership Tomorrow Program -- to develop leadership skills for our members’ Asian American managers
· GDAACC / MEED Excellence in Education – to recognize DFW Metroplex outstanding Asian American high school graduates
· MEED Center Kids Fest – to collect and distribute donated school supplies and vaccinations, etc to East Dallas elementary schools
