Excellence in Education Awards 2009
 
The MEED Center, in partnership with the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce (GDAACC), congratulates the 5 outstanding Asian American high school winners of our 17th annual Excellence in Education Awards. 

The awards were given at the Awards Banquet during the Asian American Pacific Islander Texas Regional Conference held on Wednesday, July 29th 2009 at the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport. For the 5th consecutive year, United Central Bank was the signature sponsor for the education awards. Governor Rick Perry delivered the keynote address.

2009 Award Recipients
Darya Cheng, Lawrence D. Bell High School - Darya will be attending the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University and intends to major in bio-molecular chemical engineering.

Jaclyn Chou, Plano East Senior High School - Jaclyn will be heading out to the University of Southern California. Her goal is to become a physician.

Jialing Fang, Creekview High School - Jialing is staying closer to home and will start at University of Texas, Austin in the fall. She will be majoring pharmacy studies.

Beatrice Huang, Coppell Senior High School - Beatrice will be a freshman at Southern Methodist University where she plans to major in biology and business. Her goal is to be a psychiatrist.

Ankita Krishnan, Academy of Irving - Ankita will also attending SMU where she will major in child psychology.
